Export Data from Vision Assessing


This section describes how to prepare the Vision export file that will be imported into FundWorks in order to update the property information stored within FundWorks. It is important to complete this process prior to generating the tax warrant.

To create export file:

1. In Vision, click Utilities > Export/Import Utilities > Export

2.  On Data Export configuration screen select the following options:

a. Format: Y2K Assessment Data Export

b. Export Records that changed on or after: leave blank

c. Destination File: Enter or Browse to folder location where file will be saved

d. Record Termination Character: CR/LF

e. Include a Header: leave un-checked

f. Y2K Split Acreage: leave un-checked

g. Exclude Condo Mains: leave un-checked

3. Click OK to create the export file, which will be saved to the destination file location


Notes Notes    NOTE: File preparation may take several minutes to complete.


Import Vision Export File into FundWorks

This section describes how to import the Vision export file into FundWorks to update the Property Master information. It is important to complete this process prior to generating the tax warrant.

To import the file into FundWorks:

 

1.  Open the Visilink applet 


NotesNOTE: Depending on how your workstation is configured the applet may be accessible within the Property Tax module (Tools > Vision Assessing Update).  If the applet can also be launched from the FundWorks program directory.      
         

       2. On the Main tab (prior to initialization) select the following options:




3. Click Initialize to initialize import
4. Once the Progress Bar is complete, verify that the Control Totals reconcile to the Vision export totals.


5.  After the import has been initialized, the Value, Adjustments and Import tabs will appear
6. Click Next to continue
7. On the Values tab:


NOTE: Value codes, Property Types, Exempt status, and Group Code (if applicable) only need to be assigned during the first Vision import. New property codes will need to be coded as they occur.   
       

a.  Assign corresponding FundWorks Value Codes to the Land VCode and Build VCode columns.

· Value Codes can be verified by going to the Administration Menu ---> Type Master --->Values Tab option in the Property Tax module. 

· In most cases 1=Land, 2=Building, and 3=Current Use



b.  Assign taxable and tax-exempt status where taxable = true and tax exempt = false.

c. Assign corresponding FundWorks Property Type to the PType column. 

d. Save Values 



8. On the Adjustments tab verify the credit and exemptions codes, descriptions, and amounts.  If a Description is “Unknown” this indicates that it is a new code that has not yet been entered into the FundWorks Property Tax Adjustment Master.  Please refer to page XX in the Property Tax Quick Guide for instructions on how to view and update the Adjustment Master.
