Processing Abatements  

Abatements are generated, printed and posted from the Adjustments Menu. 

Step 1: 
                  Adjustments > Enter Adjustment Memos 




Step 2: 
                  Invoices will appear in black and may be abated using   Invoices can be identified by Type 'IN'


Step 3: 
                     Select the correct invoice (selection can be identified by the black arrow) and click on the Abate Invoice Icon


Step 4:
                    The adjustment will default to the current date and total invoice/payment amount. Modify Memo Date and Amount as necessary. 
                    Click Ok.     



Step 5: 
                  The general ledger accounts will default to the reversal of the original transaction code. Modify as necessary. 
                  Click OK to save the adjustment to an adjustment batch. If there are more abatements to generate, repeat steps 1-5 as necessary. 


Step 6: 
                    At the bottom of the screen you will be able to see the adjusted abatement invoice and can also click on Memos to view all the generated abatements. 



                        
Printing & Posting Adjustment Batches 

Step 7: 
                   An Adjustment Batch Journal must be printed prior to posting an adjustment batch. 
                   Adjustments > Print Adjustments Journal 
                              

Step 8: 
                  Enter date parameters and unselect any adjustment types you do not want included. For this process we want to keep Abatements checked. 
                  Print report. The standard adjustment batch report is called ARMEMO.rpt
                                    



Step 9: 
                  Posting the batch. 
                  Adjustment > Post Adjustments 
                  Select Desired Batch (if multiple batches were created) 
        


                 
Step 10: 
                        The Post Memos & Abatements window will appear. Deselect any adjustment types you do not want included and modify the From/To dates if necessary. 
                        Post 
                        Confirmation pop-up. Click Yes
                        Adjustments posted
                     






Once posted, the user should be able to run a Treasurer's Report and Print a Statement to reflect adjustment for customer.
